Hospitality & Customer Service Professional
Hospitality and customer-service professional with nearly a decade of experience — from front-line service to full operations management. Known for leading teams, staying calm under pressure, and delivering polished, people-first service in any setting.
Core strengths I bring to any customer-service or hospitality role.
Leading daily operations, training and scheduling teams, and keeping everything running smoothly start to finish.
Quick to learn new roles and systems, and ready to step in wherever I'm needed.
Calm, dependable, and solution-focused when things get busy — the teammate people count on.
Mikhayla Hoskin · recently married, so you may also know me as Mikhayla Sorensen.
I grew up in Minnesota and have lived in Las Vegas with my husband and our dog for the past five years. I've spent most of my career in hospitality and customer service — working directly with people, leading teams, and managing day-to-day operations.
My work has always centered on people. I read a room quickly, communicate clearly, and keep customers and teams well taken care of, whether it's a quiet afternoon or the busiest rush. That focus is the throughline of everything I do.
Travel has shaped how I think — about service, about business, and about working with people from every background. I value the relationships I've built and stay open to the ones still ahead. It's part of why I'm returning to school for a degree in business: to build on what nearly a decade in this work has taught me.
Outside of work, life is full with my husband — an entrepreneur whose drive pushes mine — and our five-year-old dog, who is happiest in the water or chasing a ball. I cook and bake, keep a growing collection of plants, write, and read, and we rarely turn down a homemade pizza night.
Nearly a decade of progressive restaurant experience — bartending, serving, hosting, and full operational management. Specific employers, dates, and references available on request.
Ran daily operations of a high-volume restaurant, including time as Kitchen Manager.
Trained and worked every station — server, host, line cook, prep, and dish — and stepped in wherever needed to keep service moving smoothly.
Delivered polished service to brand standards, with full menu, wine-pairing, and dietary knowledge.
Greeted and seated guests, managed reservations, balanced server sections, and kept service flowing during the busiest shifts.
Sourced and onboarded vendors, negotiated purchase orders for competitive pricing and terms, and audited deliveries for accuracy and on-time arrival.
The skills and work ethic I bring to any customer-service or hospitality role, whatever the setting.
In their own words — managers, owners, and mentors I've worked with and learned from.

She led by example, stayed calm under pressure, and earned the respect of her coworkers… I have no doubt she would be an asset to any team, whether in customer service, operations, or leadership.
Mikhayla is dependable, hardworking, and highly professional in everything she does… I recommend her without reservation and am confident she will be an asset to any organization fortunate enough to have her.
A rare combination of initiative, professionalism, and curiosity… What I admire most about her is her integrity. Any organization would benefit from her dedication and her ability to contribute meaningfully from day one.

The bridge between who I am and how I work.
Hospitality, to me, comes down to two things: taking great care of the people I serve and the people I work alongside. Do both well, and everything else follows.
Every person should leave feeling genuinely welcomed, well cared for, and glad they came. Creating that feeling is the part of this work I love most.
I believe great businesses are built on the backs of great people. When a team feels valued, that energy carries straight through to everyone they serve.
Warmth, empathy, and clear communication go just as far with customers as they do with coworkers. I lead with all three, and keep a level head when things get busy.
I show up, follow through, and happily step into whatever the moment calls for. Dependability and versatility are how I add value anywhere I go.
